Gerardo Madrigal Quintero, of Culiacan, Mexico, and Joel Enrique Armenta, of Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, were caught trying to bring the drugs into the state in a tractor-trailer, State Police said.
They were arrested after officers watched a them carry out a drug transaction at the Ludlow Service Plaza on the Mass Pike. Both men have since been charged with trafficking in 200 grams or more of cocaine and conspiracy to violate drug law, State Police said.
Both men are being prosecuted by Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni’s Office and were arraigned in court on Tuesday. They are held without bail pending dangerousness hearings scheduled for Sept. 2, State Police said.
